As a charity we need your generous donations to support our vital work in one of the poorest communities in the country. RFSK has a rich history of community engagement with the people of the East End of London. To this day, we continue to build our connections through the Yurt Café and local community groups.
This year, we have provided over 1500 free hot lunches for local elderly residents and 40 food parcels each week to families in need. We run a foodbank, lunch clubs, gardening projects and numerous groups supporting positive mental health and well-being. Our projects, in total, touch the lives of over 16,000 people each year. As one of the UK's oldest charities, it’s essential, that with your support, our work can continue for many years to come.
Today, the Yurt Community Café faces an urgent challenge. After nearly ten years of use, the structure is deteriorating and must be replaced. Without a new Yurt, our community risks losing a vital hub that helps combat loneliness, supports mental health, and provides an affordable, welcoming space for people from all backgrounds to come together. We need to raise £80,000 by September 2026. This investment will provide a safe and welcoming home for the café and enable us to keep creating opportunities for people to meet, belong, and thrive.
