Job Overview

St Katharine's seeks enthusiastic Food and Beverage Assistants to ensure The Royal Foundation of St Katharine delivers an effective hospitality service via our main house and Community Cafe operating at a financial break even or small surplus whilst retaining the Charity's commitment to affordability and the local community.
 
Hospitality
Set and maintain a warm, confident and efficient service in the Café or Dining Room and ensure the environment is welcoming, presentable and safe at all times.
Set and maintain food and beverage offer, presentation and service appropriate to the marketplace and community.
Regularly review the F&B products on offer and provide new ideas and suggestions.
 
Customer Service
Monitor customer satisfaction and contribute to the ongoing development of the café with respect to assisting with forward planning and marketing activity
Manage complaints in an appropriate and professional manner in order to achieve customer satisfaction.
 
Community Support
Effectively support the daily delivery of community activities
Ensure rooms in the Precinct are set up, ready for Community Projects and hirers - rooms and storage areas must be clean, tidy and free of hazards
To work closely with the staff member looking after the Community Project's to ensure community feel looked after, welcomed and informed.
 
Food Hygiene and Safety
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
 
People, communication and interaction
Represent RFSK in person and via all media in a manner and style reflecting The Foundation’s ethos and core values.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve effective outcomes for RFSK.
 
Environment, Health & Safety and Security
Proactive management of cost effective recycling and waste management
Follow carefully the RFSK Ethos on being environmentally friendly
Ensure safe working practices in accordance with the correct policy and procedure
Properly handle and account for keys
Maintain full knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security
Report all H&S issues and refurbishment requirements to the RFSK Health and Safety Committee and follow up on it
Adhere to the RFSK H&S procedures and show an active interest in these procedures by highlighting and rectifying issues
 
Skills and Experience
Essential
Experience of working in a food service environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with a range of people.
Desirable
Food Hygiene Certificate level 2
Trained to Barista level.
Experience of working in a social enterprise cafe or hospitality sector.

Job Overview

St Katharine's is seeking a Room Attendant to deliver a thorough cleaning service in the bedrooms and public areas within the centre. This is a key role to support an excellent guests and visitors experience.

Basic Responsibilities: Responsible for cleaning guest rooms and replenishing amenities to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Room Attendant would also be required to manage guest requests.
 
Main Responsibilities 
Clean guest bedrooms, bathrooms and public areas   
Vacuum rooms, corridors and public lounge spaces   
Change and replenish bed linen, towels and guest amenities in line with company guidelines  
Undertake regular deep cleaning tasks   
Restock and maintain trolley on daily basis   
Be environmentally aware   
Dispose of waste accordingly   
Manage guest requests in a timely and efficient manner   
Carry out lost property procedures   
Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships   
To understand and strive to exceed the customer’s expectations and to anticipate any requirements that they may have.   
To actively promote the different standards of the hotel guest rooms and subsequent upgrades of bedrooms.   
To understand that you are representing the business, that you will be wearing uniform as instructed, and be courteous at all times.   
To report for duty on time and be of a clean and presentable appearance.   
To alert your supervisor of any damage loss, wear and tear to any of the hotel’s fixtures, fittings, furnishings and electrical items.   
To deal with a high level of physical demands that will be made of you. You will have to turn mattresses, carry luggage and move pieces of furniture on a regular basis along with other tasks that may be asked of you by other supervisors/managers.   
To stock cupboards with the relevant supplies required within the hotel guest rooms and public areas.   
To support your head of department with deliveries and collections.  
  
Team Working   
Attend departmental staff meetings at least once per month.  
Consciously contribute to effective team working at the management and team levels and encourage colleagues to behave likewise.   
   
Guest/Customer Satisfaction   
Deal, where possible and appropriate, with any complaints made and make sure the Senior Manager on Duty knows of the complaint.   
Constantly focus on the satisfaction of the Guest as our main purpose.

Have full knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security  
Report all H&S issues and refurbishment requirements in all areas of the RFSK to the Director of Operations and follow up on it   
Adhere to the RFSK H&S procedures and show an active interest in these procedures by highlighting and rectifying issues   
Fully understand the safety procedures of the RFSK and assist to ensure the safe evacuation of guests and staff

Job Overview

Chef needed to join an exciting and innovative team in a great work environment. 
 
Joining a small team working between London's only Yurt Cafe, winner of Time Out Love London award and the main Retreat House at St Katharine's you will have experience of producing highly nutritional, dietary and allergen compliant, interesting and tasty food.

Hours: 
0 hour contract with high demand expected in Autumn 2021. The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekends and public holidays. Hours will be split between St Katherine’s House Kitchen and the Yurt Café. 
 
Basic Responsibilities: 
Deliver food and beverage services to the Foundation’s guests, clients and visitors to the highest standards of quality and timeliness. Ensure that this is achieved within budget and that waste is minimised. Plan and organise the resources necessary to meet these requirements and to ensure a positive customer experience across all areas of the operation. 
 
Main Responsibilities 
Plan and organise food and beverage production in your area of responsibility to ensure quality and presentation standards are achieved and production deadlines are met. Support the team, as required to ensure these standards are achieved in all areas of food and beverage production on a daily basis.  
Manage food and beverage production in your areas of responsibility to ensure effective portion control, minimal wastage and to achieve the required profit margins.  
Ensure that food and beverage production within your area of responsibility is carried out in compliance with all current health and food safety standards and the Foundation’s internal procedures. Diligently follow food allergen standards and procedures to ensure that clients and guests are not put at risk at any time.   
Support the Senior Chef Team in the development of the food and beverage offering at the Foundation based on customer requirements and guest feedback and own suggestions.  
Use the equipment in the kitchen safely in line with the operating instructions, where relevant and train new or less experienced members of the team to do the same, where required.  
Place orders for raw and cooked foods, beverages and other consumables in conjunction with the Senior Chef Team to ensure you have the products necessary to fulfil the daily production requirements within your area of responsibility  
Check off food deliveries as required, ensuring that all deliveries are accurate, meet quality standards and are stored correctly. Complete and sign delivery record sheets as required and ensure that all delivery discrepancies are documented and reported to the Senior Chef Team.     
Ensure that daily cleaning schedules are completed to the highest standard within your area of responsibility and correct any shortfalls in standards that are identified.   
Report any health and safety issues and maintenance requirements as they arise to the Senior Chef Team.  
Assist the Senior Chef Team with Kitchen security by ensuring that storerooms are locked after use and key controls are followed. 
 
Personal Qualities.  
Prior experience as a Chef or similar role in a multi-site food production operation of a similar size and style.  
Multi skilled and demonstrates a range of experience using a variety of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, tools and processes.   
Holds the professional and statutory qualifications required for the role to at least NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent. 

Produces food to a consistently high standard of quality and timeliness and delivers on their commitments.
