The Yurt Café

We opened in 2016 as London’s first Yurt café and have evolved over the years to include the community hub and stretch tent.

Our aim is to create an affordable café and welcoming space for all, serving locally sourced food in a space where people can connect, belong and leave feeling refreshed.

More than a café, the Yurt is a thriving community hub, a place of connection and creativity. We host a variety of community activities, live music, exhibitions from local artists an much more. The Yurt can also be hired for private events, celebrations and gatherings. 

Any profits we make from the café go towards providing activities for the local community.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new and improved Yurt Café - stay tuned for brand new menus coming very soon, plus extended evening opening hours from November 2026!

After 10 years of use, the yurts had worn out beyond repair, placing our future at risk. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community and supporters, we've raised more than £40,000 so far to help secure the future of this unique space. 

In October 2026 we installed two brand-new yurts, creating an even better, sustainable home for our café and community work.

The Yurt Café is the perfect spot for private hire! With its unique and quirky atmosphere, it’s an ideal venue for any celebration, whether you’re planning a birthday celebration, a staff party, a wedding, a hen party, or any special occasion, we’ve got you covered! We offer complete flexibility, customising the private hire to fit your preferred timing and food requirements.

Our cosy space is perfect for hosting up to 35 guests for a seated meal or up to 70 guests for a more informal standing reception.

At The Yurt Café, we care about serving great coffee because we believe every cup is a little treat to enjoy and look forward to each day. 

We proudly serve coffee from Mission Coffee Works, a speciality roaster that sources beans from smallholder farmers. Their coffee is ethically sourced within a sustainability framework, ensuring minimal environmental impact while maximising economic support for the communities that grow it.

We offer an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and brunch with a variety of drink options. Our breakfast menu includes light and healthy options like granola with coconut yogurt and hearty options like full English breakfast.

Our lunch menu includes a variety of delicious options such as fresh, house-made salads, mouthwatering focaccias, and freshly made soups. Perfect for those on the go or looking for a quick bite during lunchtime. And of course, you can wash it all down with our selection of refreshing iced coffees or a selection of cold drinks.

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy a delicious meal, regardless of their dietary preferences or restrictions. Our vegan and vegetarian options are just as delicious and satisfying as our regular menu items.

We offer vegan and vegetarian breakfast options such as avocado toast or vegan sausage sandwiches.

We also have a selection of plant-based milk options for those who prefer non-dairy alternatives.

We host a Community Repair Café, where household items in need of a new lease of life can be brought to be fixed by a team of volunteers.  

Whether it’s clothing, small electrical appliances, bicycles, or IT equipment, we’re here to help you mend and repair your items.

Bring them along, and we we will do our best to show you how to fix them.
